(Somewhat Lame) Poll Results

The latest Poll idea was cool, but i forgot to include Snowboarding so (i ssume) that most votes counted in "something else" were for the omitted sport - ooops.

Beyond that, Short-track Speedskating was the popular pick with 25% of the 61 votes, followed by Ski Jumping (my vote) with 20% (12 votes), then "Something Else" (likely Snowboarding) 16% rounded out the top 3 picks.

Freestyle Skiing and the Sliding Sports (luge, bob, skeleton) tied for a strong fourth with 13% each while Longtrack Speedskating (11%) and Cross Country Skiiing (2%) rounded out the poll.

Any new sports you think should be added to future Winter Olympics?

SLC Winter Olympics 2002 Flashback P.4 - Half-pipe and Hockey

The day, February 11, 2002 started with an morning drive to Park City to park, at this point we were getting familiar to the routine of hopping shuttle bus, wait in security lines, waiting more... but i was getting a little irked cause the eyelets on my boots always chirping the metal detectors so i'd get moved over to the secondary line to get wanded down by some 19-year National Guardsman.

Cops from all over the US had come to help out and provide reinforcements and while I won't rant on this topic, I did find it a "bit* distracting but post 9/11 etc .... you know the routine.

Here's some news from Ross' tour of BC and Alberta.

The very popular Bell Lightship tour across Canada is now being accompanied by the Bell Community Cruiser, a vintage 1976 Airstream trailer, which visits communities across Alberta and B.C.

This state-of-the-art cruiser is being driven by the world's first Olympic snowboarding gold medallist, Ross Rebagliati, who is hosting autograph sessions and media events in each community included on the tour.
